中絶の是非について説得力のある言葉

人工中絶に全く縁の無い私の人生だが、私が愛聴するPod Castではよく話題にあがる。

Charlie Kirkというアメリカ保守コメンテーターがLila Roseという運動家を招待して展開する以下の議論が非常にわかりやすかった。

Lila Rose女史のコメントの要旨：

1) Research says that less than 3%, of even 1%, of abortion cases are from rape, incest, or life threatning conditions of mothers.

(中絶の3％もしくは1%以下が、強姦・近親相姦・母親のひどい生活条件に起因する）

2) Women who have an abortion after rape, their healing process is not aided. It adds more trauma to their orginal trauma of rape. It does not "unrape" her.

(強姦を理由に中絶を受けた女性は、中絶によって癒されることはない。むしろ当初の(レイプによる）トラウマが増えるだけ。中絶によって彼女がunrape(レイプ取り消し）されることはない。)

中絶の是非、合法化or違法化は、大統領選挙の大きな議題になるだろう。
